Allegra School recently celebrated Harmony Day with a vibrant display of cultural diversity and togetherness. Students from all backgrounds came together to share food and stories from around the world, highlighting the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our school community.
The day was marked by a feast of international cuisines, with students bringing in dishes from countries such as the Netherlands, Samoa, Germany, Australia, Italy, USA, China, Mexico, and France, among others. This culinary showcase provided a delicious glimpse into the varied tastes and traditions of our global community.
To further emphasise the message of inclusivity and unity, both students and staff dressed in shades of orange, the official colour of Harmony Day. This collective display of orange was a visual celebration of diversity and acceptance, reinforcing the idea that we are stronger together.
In the morning, students engaged in discussions about the significance of Harmony Day in Australia during their GELL class. They also participated in a creative activity, making 'You Belong' mini shirts, which were proudly displayed in the student common area, symbolising our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
The success of Harmony Day was made possible by the enthusiastic participation of our school community. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and students who contributed to the event, whether through preparing food or organising the orange attire. Your efforts helped make this day a truly memorable celebration of diversity and unity.
Harmony Day at Allegra School was a resounding success, showcasing the beauty of cultural diversity and the strength of a community united in acceptance and respect. We look forward to continuing to celebrate and embrace our differences throughout the year.
